Biography:

Teddie has been training in the Martial Arts for 30 years after deciding to take a T’ai Chi class for fun. Encouragement from her instructor led to the beginning of Aikido training as well and now she is a 5th Degree Black Belt in Yoshinkan Aikido, a certified Instructor in Yang Style T’ai Chi and is an intermediate practitioner in Kali/Filipino Martial Arts.

A lifelong learner, the Martial Arts has been a path that interweaves with every facet of Teddie’s life, including being the owner and head instructor of Tigerlily Eastern Arts in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has run Tigerlily for 25 years.

Teddie also served as Board Member of the National Women’s Martial Arts Federation - Membership Director (2010) and Board Chair (2011 – 2015), and has been a member of AWMAI since 2012.

Inspiration from students and the support of friends in the martial arts community, coupled with the sheer fun of training continue to fuel her passion.
