Biography:

Carol MiddletonGrandmaster Carol Middleton, 7th degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, has studied various martial arts and self-defense systems since 1968. She has run the D.C. Self Defense Karate Association since 1976, Krav Maga DC from 2001-2016, D.C. IMPACT Self Defense full-force padded assailant scenario-based training since 1989, and was the first President of IMPACT International. She has also been a tactical master in CDT (low force compliance and control techniques), master of Last Resort Training and is a consultant to and certified instructor of KIDPOWER.

Carol is a founder of National Women’s Martial Arts Federation, its first Member of the Year and trainer many times at Special Training. She has also attended American Women’s Self Defense Association and Association of Women Martial Arts Instructors many times, and Pacific Association of Women Martial Artists a few times. She has taught in Canada, England, Austria and Kenya, and trained the first cadre of self-defense instructors across the former Soviet Union.
