AWMAI Terms of Membership [AWMAI Professional Code of Ethics]

  • Members shall maintain a professional attitude and shall act with integrity in regard to colleagues
  • Members shall respect and value colleagues
  • Members will not injure maliciously the professional reputation or practice of another member
  • Members shall maintain the highest standard as instructors and assistant instructors of moral and professional conduct
  • Members shall exhibit the highest standard of expertise by maintaining their professional abilities in their fields of teaching and practice
  • Members shall maintain and increase the prestige of the art of teaching and shall promote the teaching of martial and healing arts as a culturally enriching profession
  • Members shall hold each other in respect and honor the tremendous efforts and skills represented by the membership and accept as worthy the diverse talents of the membership
  • Members shall vow to treat students with respect and train them in the safest way possible
  • Members vow to support and nurture women’s growth as people and martial artist to the best of their ability
  • Members shall not discriminate against any other member due to race, sex, religion, creed, ethnicity, sexual orientation, political beliefs, color, place or origin, illness, physical ability, mental ability, age or ancestry.
