Women in Wing Chun

Hello,
I have been wanting to get more women into our wing chun classes for quite some time. My husband and I teach, and being a striking art INVENTED by a woman, I have noticed that this art is painfully male dominated.
This is something I really wish to change. I've noticed that Sifu's who teach overseas have drastically more women in their classes and in higher rank than that of America (which is close to zero, especially in high rank).
We will be opening a school in Texas the beginning of this year, and I really want to make sure that we have more women in enrollment than we have had.
I really don't understand why women seem to not be interested. Women pick up the technique much faster than men, and we encourage and support women who come to class.
I'm afraid that women do not really believe that they can truely defend themselves against and man, and are afraid of the idea of really striking a man in a self-defense situation. Any input, suggestions, or insight on this would be greatly appreciated.
